At BINUS Malang, the shuttle bus service is an essential transportation facilitation managed by the Building Management team. It aims to optimize students' commuting costs by providing reliable transportation within the Araya Area.
Currently, seat reservations and updates are handled through WhatsApp groups, while routes and schedules are determined based on residential distribution, class start times, and operational costs. However, this manual process can be inefficient, leading to miscommunication, unorganized bookings, and difficulty in tracking real-time availability.

To enhance efficiency from the outset, this project begins by identifying user requirements through targeted research. Key stakeholders including students, the building management team, and a lecturer serving as the product owner are interviewed to ensure a well-informed foundation for development.
From the students, we gathered a detailed user journey, as illustrated in the picture below.
The picture above highlights a slight pain point in the phase spanning from mid-registration to mid-pre-departure.
From the building management team, we learned that they often face confusion due to unpatterned pickup requests made outside the system by passengers, while the bus must still adhere to its scheduled route.
