People often engage in various activities to maintain their health, such as regular exercise, ensuring they get enough sleep, and taking supplements. However, one critical aspect that people often forget is maintaining their diet.

and we found that

90% of diseases are caused by poor dietary habits; and based on research in 2017 Approximately 11 million deaths worldwide are attributed to poor dietary habits.

This fact underscores the critical importance of maintaining a healthy diet.

This lead us into an Guiding Question: “What are the existing solutions people use to maintain their food?”

There are many existing solutions, such as meal prepping, food tracking, portion controlling, nutrition counseling, and joining healthy meal service. However, one solution that we find particularly interesting and that can be easily facilitated with an app is food tracking.

There are a lot of food tracking app in the application store platform (App Store). But these apps sometimes struggle to maintain user engagement for consistent food tracking. Users may start off enthusiastically but find it challenging to keep up the habit over time.

  1. Time and Effort Consuming Existing and popular applications for meal tracking often require users to input numerous variables to accurately analyze calorie and nutrient content. This typically involves weighing food portions, identifying the types of food, and listing ingredients to obtain precise results.
  2. Data Accuracy Not all foods are available in the app's database, and often users have to guess or estimate portion sizes, leading to inaccurate data.
  3. Tracking app doesn’t seems interesting The repetitive nature of meal tracking can become tedious because the process doesn't offer any new challenges to keep users engaged, no physical rewards or milestones to celebrate progress, and people cannot see immediate results, making it harder to stay motivated.

Then..

people often become unaware and not mindful of what they eat, because they forget what they have consumed. Sadly, they only become aware after they develop a disease

So here is our challenge for this project.
